Professional Experience

Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) : Chirag served for over 23 years at the Gujarat Pollution Control Board, including more than a decade at its Head Office in Gandhinagar as Divisional Head. During this tenure, he played a strategic role in regulatory modernization and institutional reform initiatives.

Key responsibilities included:

• Nodal Officer for the development of Best Available Techniques (BAT) Reference Documents

• Nodal Officer for the Ease of Doing Business initiative of the Government of India

• Convener for the Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS) and Pilot Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS)

He has also served as Senior Technical Advisor with GIZ – Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH (Germany), supporting international cooperation programs in environmental governance and climate policy.
